Blue Angel

Identification: The body of the blue angelfish is blue-green with blue and white tints. The tail and pectoral fins are bordered in yellow (solid yellow in Queen angelfish). The juveniles have an orange snout, tail. and pectoral fins. There are also several straight blue bands on a black-blue body.

Maximum Length: 15"

Origin: Caribbean

Minimum tank size:  70 Gallon

Behavior: The Blue Angel is a popular and beautiful species that will make for a nice addition to a semi aggressive fish only tank, with other community type fish i.e. Butterflies, Tangs, Wrasse etc.

Feeding and diet: The Holacanthus bermudensis is an omnivore and likes to feed on marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, Sponges and other fresh or frozen seafoods. The diet of all larger angels consists heavily of sponge material, so it is recommended to feed "Angel Formula" by: Ocean Nutrition, which has a very high sponge percentage mixed in the food

Reef Compatibility:  Not reef safe, will pick on all corals, feather Dusters, and clam mantles.

Cautions: May act aggressively towards other Angels, and other tank mates. Best to be kept in a semi aggressive community type aquarium.
