Blue Reef Chromis
Chromis cyaneus

Identification: Electric Blue with black highlights along the dorsal fins

Maximum Length: Growing to a length of approximately 1.5 - 2  inches.

Origin: East-Indo Pacific to the western Pacific, Bermuda, southern Florida, and the Caribbean. Also found in the Gulf of Mexico and the Dutch Antilles

Minimum tank size: 20 Gallon

Behavior: A timid species, the Blue Reef Chromis, should not be placed with aggressive species

Feeding and diet:  The Chromis cyaneus is a Planktivore, feeding on Zooplankton and other small organisms. Offer a variety of foods such as frozen foods, various flake and pellet foods


Reef Compatibility:
An excellent reef aquarium species because it will not bother invertebrates.

Cautions:  In the home aquarium, they can be kept by themselves or in schools of at least 6 or more individuals
