Identification: Transparent almost ghost-like body

Maximum Length: If allowed to grow can reach 3-4" long. Normally sold about a 1/2" or less.

Origin: Fresh water lakes around the US and Canada.

Minimum tank size: 10 Gallon

Behavior: These are normally used to feed other fish and invertebrates. Loved by eels, lionfish, anthias, wrasses, sharks and many others. They can be kept in a freshwater aquarium and do a great job of cleaning live plants. Well breed in captivity if conditions are right. Prefers a neutral ph.

Feeding and diet: Omnivore.

Reef Compatibility:  Will live for a few hours in salt water but does not normally acclimated to salt water long term.
