Identification:  Lined seahorses can be black, pale brown or red, but they can be identified
                         by their tiny white stripes

Maximum Length: 6.0"

Origin: Seagrass beds along the east coast of the Americas from Canada to Argentina.

Minimum tank size:  25 Gallons

Behavior: Very Peaceful, Needs a quiet aquarium.

Feeding and diet:  A variety of plankton, worms and crustacean larvae, ghost shrimp, mysis shrimp
                               and brine shrimp. Seahorses suck in their food and swallow it whole because they
                               do not have teeth.

Reproduction: Among seahorses, only the male becomes pregnant. The female seahorse deposits
                         eggs into the male's brood pouch, where they are fertilized by the male. The young
                         develop in the pouch in as little as 10 days or as long as six weeks, depending upon
                         species and water temperature. The tiny young seahorses are born fully formed.
                         They receive no parental care and are independent from birth. Seahorses reach
                         maturity in approximately six months.

Longevity: The exact length of the brief life span of seahorses is not known.
                   It is estimated to be from one to four years, depending on the species.
