Behavior: The Cucumber, Red & Black may grow to 12 inches. The Holothuria edulis is generally peaceful toward other tank mates. Reef-safe. Many consider the Holothuria edulis a medium-maintenance specimen. Not venomous. Holothuroids are the odd-Class out in being secondarily non-radial appearing; often looking like strange ornamental sausages, some translucent, others opaque and warty. Cucumber-like! Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).

Feeding and diet: Omnivore. Scavenger that likes to sift through sand, digest it, and spit it out.

Reef Compatibility: Excellent

Cautions: Be careful with copper-based medication and extreme nitrate levels
