Identification: The coloration of this species is grayish brown overall with 6 bars running vertically along the length of the body with a white stripe near the eye and a dark black head.
Maximum Length: Attains a length of approximately 19-20 inches.
Origin: Eastern Indian Ocean and Western Pacific
Minimum tank size: 180 Gallon
Behavior: Occurring in pairs in the wild, this species is a hardy marine aquarium species. It will require a large aquarium, particularly as it grows to its adult size. This species is found at depths ranging from 5-175 feet.
Feeding and diet: This fish will feed on a variety of prepared foods, but particular attention should be given in providing it with sponge and green algaes.
Reef Compatibility: This species is not a good marine reef aquarium species because it will feed on a variety of invertebrates.
Cautions: Adult angels can be territorial especially if you are keeping more than one angel.
