Identification: The Six Line Wrasse is one of the most popular wrasse species in the aquarium trade. Its coloration is brownish-red overall with pink-red stripes running the length of the body, and a green tail. 

Maximum Length: This species grows to a length of approximately 3 inches.

Origin: Indo-Pacific

Minimum tank size: 20 Gallon

Behavior: This species is a very hardy marine aquarium species, making it an ideal fish for the beginner aquarist. Great fish to keep if you keep clams in your aquarium. They will eat any pyramidellid snails that may prey on them.

Feeding and diet: This species will accept a variety of prepared foods, including both meatier varieties and greens.

Reef Compatibility:  The Six Line Wrasse is an excellent marine reef aquarium species because it will not bother any invertebrates or corals and will generally swim out in the open for most of the daylight hours.

Cautions: This species is peaceful, although it will fight with fish of the same kind or similar species.
